Rabia - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

Rabia, BS, RDN

Licensed Dietitian

Why I Became a Dietitian

At a young age, I watched my mom struggle with Crohn's disease. I saw firsthand how profoundly food and nutrition impacted her health, energy, and quality of life. Some days, the right foods helped her feel almost normal. Other days, it felt like an impossible puzzle with devastating consequences when we got it wrong.

From a young age, I took on the responsibility of buying groceries and being a role model for my younger siblings. I learned to read labels, plan meals that wouldn't trigger her symptoms, and navigate the overwhelming world of nutrition advice—much of it contradictory or unhelpful.

That experience planted a seed. I wanted to help people navigate the confusion and overwhelm that comes with managing health through food. I wanted to be the knowledgeable, compassionate guide I wish my family had during those difficult years.

"I became a dietitian to help others find clarity, hope, and practical solutions when food feels complicated."

How I Work With Clients

I believe nutrition counseling should feel like a conversation with someone who truly listens—not a lecture from someone who thinks they know your body better than you do.

Here's what you can expect when working with me:

I'm Genuinely Curious About Your Story

I want to understand where you are in life, how you got there, and how your challenges are impacting your health. Your experiences, culture, family dynamics, and daily realities all matter. I'm an empathic listener who takes time to understand your whole picture—not just your symptoms.

I'm Culturally Sensitive

Your cultural food traditions aren't obstacles to overcome—they're strengths to embrace. I help you incorporate the foods that matter to you and your family into a nourishing eating pattern. Everyone is welcome here, and I honor the diversity of food traditions and preferences.

I'm Non-Judgmental

There's no shame or guilt in my practice. I offer non-judgmental ears to hear your challenges, celebrate your wins, and help you take baby steps toward a healthier you. If something isn't working, we adjust—no judgment, just problem-solving together.

I Focus on What Works for YOU

Healthy eating is about what works for you and your family—not following rigid rules from a textbook. I create flexible, individualized plans that fit your lifestyle, preferences, schedule, and goals. Your nutrition plan should make your life easier, not harder.

I Believe in Baby Steps

Sustainable change happens through small, consistent actions—not dramatic overhauls that leave you feeling overwhelmed. We'll work together to identify realistic next steps that build confidence and momentum over time.

I'm Evidence-Based

As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), I provide medical nutrition therapy grounded in current research and evidence—not trends, fads, or pseudoscience. You can trust that every recommendation I make is backed by science.

What I Believe About Food and Health

My core principles that guide every nutrition recommendation

Food Should Nourish, Not Stress

Eating well shouldn't consume your mental energy or create anxiety. I help you develop a peaceful, confident relationship with food.

Your Body Is Unique

What works for someone else may not work for you. I create truly personalized plans based on your health history, preferences, culture, and lifestyle.

Sustainable Change Over Quick Fixes

I focus on lasting lifestyle changes, not restrictive diets that work for a few weeks and then fail. The goal is to feel good for years, not just months.

Health Is Holistic

True wellness encompasses physical health, mental clarity, emotional balance, and social connection. Nutrition is just one piece—but it's a powerful one.

Progress Over Perfection

There's no such thing as perfect eating. We celebrate every victory—more energy, better sleep, improved labs, increased confidence. You don't need to be perfect to make meaningful progress.

Family Matters

You don't live alone in a vacuum. I help you create eating patterns that work for your entire family, making healthy eating sustainable for everyone.

Beyond the Credentials

Being a dietitian isn't just my job—it's deeply personal. Every time I help a client understand why previous approaches didn't work for their unique body, or watch them light up when they finally have energy to play with their kids, or see lab results improve because they made sustainable changes... it reminds me why I chose this path.

I love helping people:

  • Find food freedom after years of restrictive dieting
  • Understand their bodies and trust their own signals
  • Navigate health conditions with confidence, not fear
  • Make lasting changes that fit their real lives
  • Feel empowered, not overwhelmed, by nutrition information

"What drives me every day: Knowing that nutrition counseling can be the turning point that changes someone's health trajectory—just like it could have been for my mom."

When I'm Not Working

I'm a firm believer that life is meant to be enjoyed—including food! Here are a few things about me beyond my RDN credentials:

I Love to Travel

I enjoy exploring the world with my family. Last year, I traveled through 6 different countries across 3 continents in just 2 weeks! I've also done a 5,000-mile cross-country road trip. Travel has taught me so much about diverse food cultures, and I bring that appreciation into my work with clients.

I'm Multilingual

I provide nutrition counseling in English, Urdu, and Hindi. Being able to serve diverse communities in their preferred language is deeply meaningful to me.

Family Is Everything

Growing up caring for my mom and siblings taught me the importance of family-centered nutrition. I understand that your food decisions affect everyone at your table—and I help you create plans that work for your whole family.

I Practice What I Preach

I believe in flexible, sustainable eating that includes cultural foods, celebration meals, and food freedom. You won't find me following restrictive diets or promoting all-or-nothing thinking.
